Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer I - Manufacturing Production Quality Support position is a junior engineering position on the Manufacturing Engineering Team. This position supports the general manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on production quality.

Specific duties:

Supporting NCR/MRB Process Examining each NCR traveling through the NCR process.

Review of physical parts for NCR review.

Dispositioning of individual NCRs.

Overseeing and often participating in relabeling and physical movement of parts dispositioned.

Analyzing and improving the NCR process Creating a framework for continual analysis of defects over various product lines.

Creating charts and analysis tools to monitor defects generated over the various product lines.

Analyzing trends and groupings of defects for regular presentations to the engineering and management teams.

Developing and spearheading continuous improvement efforts to further identify and reduce defects.

Leading 1-2 co-op students in support of the NCR dispositioning process.

General Duties:

Assisting in evaluation of quality issues as they arise from several product lines.

Contributor and leader in response to customer quality issues.

Contributing member of the manufacturing engineering team in support of continuous improvement projects both focused on quality and general production.

Leader of improvement projects focused on increasing accuracy and throughput of quality inspection.

Periodic reviews of a variety of processes, procedures, and work instructions for improvements.

Specification review of internal and external specifications for analyzing test methods and creating "ease of use" documentation, "translating" them into functional formats.

Requirements:

BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or other relevant engineering field.

0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in basics MS Excel with a strong desire to build upon current skills.

Experience in Solidworks or other CAD modeling software is desired but not required.

Experience in data analytics and data analytics software (such as Minitab) strongly desired but not required.

Self-Starter - Ability to seek out new projects and answers to problems and questions on own volition.

Action oriented - Strives to organize workload into a project management framework, breaking down workload into clearly defined outlines, organized by milestones and tasks.

Strong communicator - Able to clearly define needs and questions. Has the ability to discuss problems and issues respectfully and distinctly to seek solutions.

Root cause mindset - Constantly seeking the next layer down on issues. Looking to find the base layer of defects, driving to uncover and resolve systemic problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to walk through a large manufacturing environment.

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE : Must be able to obtain Security Clearance. US Citizenship Required
