Warehouse Manager

Job Purpose
The Warehouse Manager supervises the activities of employees, engages in shipping, receiving, storing and testing materials and products. This individual is responsible for safety development, along with implementing security and safety programs. They issue job assignments and review work orders, invoices and confirm reports and monitor the distribution of materials or products.
Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Manager will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.
Supervising, training and hiring of employees to work in the warehouse either as laborers, equipment operators, clerks or inventory control personnel
Scheduling employees, truck drivers, arranging drop offs and deliveries and scheduling loading dock use of mechanized equipment such as forklifts.
Ensuing that all appropriate safety regulations are being followed both with regards to personal safety and safety of inventory
Checking and verifying shipping records, handling questions or concerns of shipping shortages or overages and addressing any problems with inventory control
Meeting with new and existing clients to determine their needs for warehouse space, entering storage contracts and entering information into various software programs to monitor use of the facility
Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse functions with the activities of other departments such as buying, production, quality, and distribution
Organize workforce according to productivity requirements to obtain most effective utilization of resources
Manage capital expenditures to requisition and replacement of equipment and supplies.
Manage in house and off-site inventory
Manage and schedule outbound logistics
Train employees on company policies and procedures such as SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), Workplace Safety, PS (Process Specifications), QCP (Quality Control Procedures), etc.
Assist colleagues as needed
Attend staff and other scheduled business meetings
Perform other tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience

High School Diploma or GED Required
At least 5 years proven warehouse supervisory experience and ability to effectively manage a staff of 20+ employees
HACCP Certified
SQF Coordinator Skills
Should possess a general concept of engineering processes, familiarity with warehouse equipment and have an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Ability to manage warehouse staff and directly oversee all shifts by dividing/balancing time across multiple shifts and having flexibility to work off-shift hours, including nights and/or weekends
Ability to effectively conduct job performance reviews, recommending performance improvement plans where necessary and ability to establish and communicate department goals, objectives and processes with employees
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and possess strong interpersonal skills
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure, possessing an exceptional sense of urgency
Ability to follow involved instructions, trouble shoot issues, schedule, organize, coordinate, train, and prepare operating procedures with minimal supervision
