JOB SCOPE
The Project Engineer is responsible for maintaining project documents. The Project Engineer assists and supports compliance, report preparation, scheduling, and technical assistance. They work as a team with the Project Manager and Superintendents to deliver successful projects to our clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up projects and contracts within the project management platform from the commencement of the project
Maintain accurate project files to ensure compliance with contract requirements, ensure documents are organized and are readily available for retrieval
Complete the estimate take off, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines
Maintain project plans current to scope, schedule and/or budget changes
Assist and/or coordinate in holding weekly team meetings to review budget, project issues and schedule prior to attending weekly subcontractor meetings
Review all submittals and project documents to ensure compliance with the contract requirements, review final submittals with PM for compliance and prior to submission. Ensure all submittals are submitted and approved prior to preparatory meetings, standard review period is 21 working days (plan submission of necessary submittals to not delay the project)
Oversee materials and equipment that will be used during project execution
Verify shipment deliveries per submittals, for defects and irregularities. Track these shipments on equipment/materials, document issues at time of deliveries via log and with pictures to issue the appropriate notification in a timely matter to vendors/end users
Work with Project Managers and/or Superintendents to recognize underperforming subcontractors to ensure timing with project notifications
Assist with project schedule changes and how they affect the projects subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure long lead items are incorporated into the schedule
Participate in the Punch list. Distribute the Punch list to subcontractors within 24 hours after the walk.
Review, log, prepare, and distributes all project RFI's (Request for Information)

Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
Independently performs most assignments with instruction
0-1 years of experience in a related position.
College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience
Relevant past experience is not necessarily required.
Entry-level, non-exempt positions
What is expected of a Project Engineer 2:
Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
Independently performs most assignments with instruction
Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
1-2 years of experience in a related position.
College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
What is expected of a Project Engineer 3:
Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
Independently performs most assignments with instruction
Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
3-5 years of experience in a related position.
College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook and Procore and Bluebeam
Familiar with PDF creation and modification
Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and understand contract documents, construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, product data and project documentation
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Must have a Valid Driver's License with clean record
