Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
This position is responsible for the implementation of major programs to include: predictive maintenance program, water treatment program, transformer reliability program, incident investigation program, training program, and other similar major programs. For example, the PdM program includes day to day management of the test and maintenance fleet services contractor(s), interpretation of the test results, and recommendations to Calpine Management and Calpine Engineering of critical items that are being monitored. Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Responsibilities also include aiding in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts. The programs managed by the Program Manager are to provide consistent implementation of the program throughout Calpine's Fleet, improving operational reliability and efficiency. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules develops solutions to program problems and ensures programs are consistently delivered and maintained. Provides technical guidance to other departments within Calpine. Provide technical leadership to both internal and external organizations and entities.
Specialized Job Information
NDE (wellhead and pipewall ultrasonic thickness testing), Steamfield Major Maintenance, Valve Servicing/Replacement, and Pressure Vessel Compliance Programs, and:
Standardize steamfield assets fieldwide
Identify steam carrying assets due for replacement
Budget, plan, schedule and execute asset replacements
Oversees Geysers-wide steamfield program major maintenance budget Evaluates budgetary necessity and prioritizes budgetary spending
Analyzes annual budget spend and optimizes for future spend to improve safety and reliability
Directs steam asset testing program Technical lead for Predictive Maintenance / Non-Destructive Examination technicians
Identifies steam assets due for testing
Identifies current and future asset replacement requirements and advises Management thereof
Manages contractors for ultrasonic thickness testing, scaffolding and insulation services
Provides technical expertise regarding steam carrying assets to stakeholders
Analyzes wall thickness testing data and steam conditions to set the steam asset inspection schedule
Directs pressure vessel and relief device compliance program Identifies vessels and relief devices due for inspection
Coordinates vessel inspections with contract inspector
Mainains compliance with Calpine’s Boiler & Pressure Vessel Compliance Program and California Code of Regulations
Ensures steamfield program meets all applicable requirements of Calpine’s High Energy Piping and Quality Assurance / Quality Control Programs
Coordinates with steamfield engineers on equipment standardization and modernization
Coordinates with internal and external technical experts on evaluation and implementation of steamfield technological advancements

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering and or chemical field of study
In-depth experience across knowledge areas and multiple functions including project management; typically requires 10+ years in area of specialization.
Salary Information
Salary range -$126,266.60-$160,989.92
