Position Objective
Champions providing services advancing Business capabilities, Process Architecture, Security Architecture aligned with Organizations' Strategic objectives. The position owns accountability for strategic systems and Process architecture plans, developing and maintaining global technology roadmaps and application evolution plans; leading in the evaluation of new technology, information, or integration standards; and developing digital strategy for all business domain. The focus of this position would be on Data and Security domains. This individual is accountable for ensuring that our enterprise architecture integrates with Solar's overall security strategy and architecture as defined by Solar's CISO, and for making recommendations to project and security teams on security architecture.
Dimensions

Ensure Business, Process and Security compliance are covered in implementing strategic goals linked with Business capabilities
Manage Risks within an Enterprise Program/Project affecting multiple Business Units
Champion Build Vs Buy, replace vs Retire and Maintain vs Upgrade on Enterprise Software
Determine opportunities to reduce cost where appropriate
Implement measures to execute cost-saving opportunities
Coordinate financial spending and give transparency to leadership via reports, dashboards, and financial tools
Partner with Solar's cybersecurity team to recommend and define components and enhancements to security architecture, and own integration of security and enterprise architecture.
Nature and Scope
Advising on critical security operations, incident response, and risk management activities, technologies, and processes
Preparing presentation materials for leadership meetings
Responsible for integration of large security initiatives with Solar and Caterpillar IT Security frameworks and services
Responsible for overall enterprise security architecture for technology projects across Solar and provide guidance as needed
Visualize strategic goals linked to enabling Business capabilities by using Technology
Visualize the future of new technologies and their application and suitability in the Enterprise
Plan technology retirement and replacement, and build technology roadmaps and transition plans
Drive consensus on alignment of IT strategy and planning with Company's business goals
Protect the enterprise by steering data security to reduce risk and ensure compliance
Develop, improve, validate, and use tools to facilitate Enterprise Architecture efforts.
Champion Architecture design and create roadmaps for end-to-end enterprise systems that serve multiple business functions
Create and manage Technology roadmaps
Provide line of sight to technology risks associated with age and support
Champion and apply an enterprise-wide view to solutions to support the adoption of standards and practices and promote reuse
Maintain close liaison with business leaders (VP / Directors / Senior Managers) and vendors to ensure business needs and perception of value are met
Principal Accountabilities
Supporting the CISO in establishing and directing Solar's cybersecurity architecture and as needed act as a deputy CISO.
Provide guidance and co-develop Solar's Enterprise Data strategy
Ensure Business Process and Security compliances in implementing strategic goals linked with business capabilities
Utilize collaborative design methods to deliver robust customer/end-user process requirements and satisfaction. Provide guidance to balance these requirements with schedule, staff, and budget constraints.
Designs process improvements to improve Business capabilities
Works independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs or systems or in support of infrastructure component change management
Work with business leaders and vendors to ensure the right trade-offs are made to meet business capabilities, software requirements, and risk mitigation requirements
Under the direction of the Solar CISO, work across the enterprise to define and continually improve Solar's security architecture
Leadership
Provide leadership direction and accountability for realizing strategic goals linked to enabling Business capabilities by using Technology
Collaborate with Business leaders, IT managers, IT Director and GCIO group to ensure a shared vision and strategic execution
Champion complex Architectural aspects of IT services provided to the enterprise
Lead / Mentor a group of Architects and business analysts
Lead efforts for Enterprise Technology and Application Rationalization.
Champion the implementation of recommended improvements to existing methods
Decision Making
Drive Strategic Enterprise Programs with Business and Process Architecture
Drive the consensus on the strategic goals by working with Business and IT leadership
Evaluate, recommend, and lead the implementation of process or procedure changes and implementation of new solutions
Champion Digital Transformation and Application Rationalization efforts
Facilitate brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of a progressive career in software engineering, system implementation and architecture
Strong demonstratable experience delivering product and enterprise architecture for enterprise-scale solutions in public cloud and hybrid ecosystems
Mastered the art of blending the digital and physical world
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven leadership ability to positively influence outcomes as an individual contributor on matrix team(s)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related field
This position covers Quote to Order, Order to Ship (Engineering and PLM aspects), and Service domains. Deeper understanding of Salesforce, Windchill, Configure Price Quote (Oracle, Big Machines) etc or similar applications that cover these business processes is highly desirable
Understanding and experience in a few of the following: massive real-time event and message processing, analytics, and cloud platforms.
Certification in TOGAF or a similar framework is highly desirable
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $146,976.00, to $220,464.00. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:

Summary Pay Range:
$152,928.00 - $229,392.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
