JOB SUMMARY:
The Application Support
Engineer
supports business critical applications
for
FPI (Financial Partners Inc)
customers and
delivers
high levels
of customer service by
providing
support of application, software, and architecture.
This
includes troubleshooting
and debugging
applications and
processes
for all internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provides advanced level technical support of installed applications, systems, and processes.
· Interacts with business users and software vendors to gather information and troubleshoot implementation issues.
· Involved in collaboration efforts with other internal groups and the ATS team.
· Creates and maintains detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostics of products.
· Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems.
· Field incoming incidents escalated from end users to resolve application and software issues within applications, databases, and other mission-critical systems.
· Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
· Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
· Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
· Debug code from various technologies.
· Propose practical solutions to incidents and problems.
· Contribute to or create data recovery scripts.
· Develops and maintains detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostics of products.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
· Must have skills to administer or assist vendor in supporting any related areas.
· Provide nightly production processing, user, and process support for all areas.
· Vendor, product owner and customer relationship management.
· Cross functional collaborate problem solving.
· Utilize ITIL practices to optimize internal processes.
· Contribute to the continual improvement of the team, group, and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A college diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or 2 years equivalent work experience.
Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
Novice level knowledge of SQL Server stored procedures, functions, indexes, tables/views, and overall functional knowledge of databases.
Knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: Salesforce/nCino, MuleSoft/Solace, Azure/AWS, SQL Server Integration Services and/or Oracle (PLSQL) a plus.
1+ years of financial applications administration experience preferred.
ITIL Foundation certified a plus.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to absorb the latest ideas and concepts quickly.
Ability to research software development and delivery concepts and technical application issues.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
Experience working in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical noise levels for an open, cubicle-styled environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires periods of standing, walking, and the use of computer equipment. Additional physical demands include, but may not be limited to, talking or hearing, push/pull, stooping, kneeling, reaching w/hands and arms, and lifting at least 10 pounds.
