SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., also occasional nights, weekends and holidays as needed. May be required to work Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Hybrid schedule permitted: a minimum of 2 days in the office with additional onsite work required for events, meetings, and donor engagement.

ABOUT THE POSITION AND APPLICATION:
The Grant Writer will join Pine Street at an exciting inflection point in the organization-s 50+ year history. We recently completed a new Strategic Plan, and are embarking on the largest expansion of Supportive Housing in our history, as well as reimagining the way we provide emergency shelter and working to become a more diverse and inclusive organization. The Grant Writer will report to the Director of Institutional Giving and be part of a six-person team implementing an ambitious foundation and corporate engagement program that reflects Pine Street-s mission, goals and bold strategic plan. This is a position for an experienced grant writer, journalist, or other individual with related communications skills. Pine Street Inn offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits. SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
+ Translate Pine Street Inn program information into compelling grant proposals, status reports, and updates for funders and assist with donor site visits;
+ Use strong analytical and storytelling skills to understand, evaluate and describe complex programs;
+ Build relationships with program staff and other internal and external constituencies across the organization;
+ Conduct activities related to the identification, strategizing, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation gifts;
+ Assist with internal grant implementation, grant tracking, and acknowledgement letters as required;
+ Support the Senior Director of Institutional Giving and other members of the Institutional Giving team as required; and
+ Contribute to the success of the entire Pine Street Inn Advancement office as required.

+ Bachelor-s degree
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
+ Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Ability to write persuasively, both -from the heart- and with a solid grasp of data, history, and programmatic details/statistics;
+ Outstanding analytical skills;
+ Ability to create budgets;
+ Strong time management, organizational and project management skills; and
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
PREFERRED:
+ A track record of successful solicitation and grants management;
+ Experience with Raiser-s Edge or other fundraising databases

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
+ Research, write and develop grant proposals, letters of interest and other funding requests.
+ Write compelling, accurate and timely reports to funders and also write acknowledgement letters.
+ Use shared software and databases to track proposals and projects, and record information about prospects.
+ Work collaboratively as needed with other colleagues in the Advancement office.
+ Perform other additional assignments or projects as requested/directed by supervisor.
+ Other duties as assigned in order to meet the needs of the organization during the COVID-19 pandemic or other public health or weather emergency
