The Accounting Manager works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities for the organization and related entities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Understanding of accounting principles.
Fund accounting practices and principles; auditing practices and principles; computer applications related to the work; applicable laws, codes and regulations.
Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the phone.
General experience in an office setting necessary.
Proficiency with database and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel), Outlook, Navision Accounting Software (a plus)
Attention to detail a must.
Minimum accurate typing speed of 40 wpm.
Excellent phone manner and interpersonal skills, composition and letter writing; attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision; multi-tasking and organizational skills; and ability to prioritize tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Experience in Accounts Payable.
Ability to understand accounting theory and concepts to apply to the organization’s operations in determining best practices and procedures, especially in the area of Accounts Payable.
