What you will be doing The Category Manager I, GRx Sourcing is responsible for managing a category of generic pharmaceutical products as well as the business relationship between Cencora and the respective product suppliers. This role is a division within Cencora's Strategic Global Sourcing (SGS) Team.
Work directly with outside generic pharmaceutical suppliers as it relates to sourcing/contracting, supply of medicines, and pricing, among other strategic initiatives.
Negotiate distribution service related agreements with suppliers and settle disputes and/or issues as they arise.
Has the ability to build meaningful, strategic relationships with suppliers and can contribute toward Cencora's culture of "Best In Class Sourcing"
Collaborates with internal stakeholders such as: Sales & Marketing, AP, Finance, Legal and other Procurement entities (including Replenishment Operations) in order to promote the best interests of Cencora and our customers.
Represents and positions Cencora favorably with suppliers and acts as an advocate for Cencora interests relative to suppliers' actions and policies.
Generates profit enhancing opportunities such as deals, rebates, allowances and promotional activities for the assigned suppliers.
Manages several contracting programs resulting in increased value for both Cencora and its customers.
Represent Cencora in a professional manner at all times.
Performs ad-hoc duties as assigned.
What your background should look like Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of three (3) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and industry trends
Working knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management and/or inventory management principles and methodologies
Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
Ability to deal with confrontational issues in a positive manner
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Excellent negotiating skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
