JOB SUMMARY
As a Cloud Engineer III (Senior) you will provide engineering expertise to migrate and maintain customer workloads on AWS. You will work with a team to plan, review requirements, design, and develop the most optimal and secure cloud-based solutions. Engineer must have exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to identify and solve issues before an issue becomes systematic. The engineer must stay current with best practices, industry standards, and make recommendations as needed. As part of the HNCD Infrastructure / Cloud Services Team, perform Architectural advisement and Tier 3 Engineering in support of current legacy weapon system projects and future acquisition/deployment of Cloud Space for IDCS. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support for cloud migrations & architecture, Active Directory, cloud security, and cloud application migrations
Deliver cloud solutions across multiple environments to meet business needs
Perform cloud user management
Performs root cause analysis and improves current infrastructure solutions
Responsible for implementing and operating cloud infrastructure and integrated technologies through a lens of security, resiliency and scalability
Provide cloud solution engineering, design, migration, support for planned and unplanned outages
Investigates and tests new cloud technologies to meet or exceed user expectations
Provides systems metrics, root cause analysis and proactive monitoring
Documents clearly all required procedures and configuration changes to production systems
Assists with containerization and container deployment onto native cloud CI/CD pipelines
Develops and runs system configuration and cloud resource deployments using Ansible
Establishing guardrails/instantiating security mechanisms for access, control and management for each cloud environment, which includes Dev, Test and Production - for Impact Levels/Zones spanning IL4-TS and include Cloud-Native Cross-Domain-Solutions (CDS)
Develop IA Artifacts for ATOs (SysCat, Topologies, PPS, VA's / ACAS Scanning, etc.)
Transition legacy applications between Brokered accounts...ie, moving a SIEM from CloudOne to JWCC using AWS as the CSP
Sequencing the transition/migration or initial deployment of Defensive Cyber Systems (DCS) applications, both legacy and new to the IDCS Platform
Work with various Value-Stream Aligned Teams within the Branch to plan their transition to the new Architecture
Initial deployment/sustainment of Instances/VM's or Container Clusters as the foundation for the deployed application
Establishing network connections over various protocols or methods for sources residing external to the DISN or within the AFNET and maintained via sustained bi-directional communication for globally accessible sources
Space allocation/utilization (Compute, Storage & Services), ensuring the appropriate funding to support
Establish workflows for incident response or change management using Service Now (SNOW) as the platform
Documentation of processes and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS 7-10 years of experience
Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud-native cost-effective solutions on AWS
Experience developing and deploying large, distributed cloud-hosted systems and the required operational models for stable application availability
Excels in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud native AWS platforms and services
Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within six months of start
Familiarity with containerization concepts
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, identity federation,
Experience with CM languages, scripting, IaC, or OOP;
Administering Linux or Windows server; Strong familiarity with AWS cloud concepts and services
Active Top Secret Security Clearance - Required; TS/SCI preferred
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math) or equivalent experience preferred
U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions at Zivaro due to security clearance requirements and government/federal contracts held by Zivaro.
