About the Role

The Company is seeking a Director of Development to play a pivotal role in professionalizing and expanding its national presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing major gifts fundraising and developing a national chapter system to increase membership. This role demands a highly driven and passionate individual with a background in major gift fundraising, preferably within the sporting and outdoor community. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Team, embodying the values and culture of the sportsmen and women the organization represents. Key responsibilities include overseeing all fundraising activities, cultivating relationships with donors, and contributing to the design and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of direct fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in major gifts, and a proven track record of leadership in successful development programs.The Director of Development will be a strategic leader, designing and executing plans to engage donors, meet revenue goals, and ensure the organization's financial sustainability. They will also be involved in grant development, planned giving, and event management. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred), excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences. The candidate must be willing to travel frequently within the United States and demonstrate a passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping. An entrepreneurial spirit, tenacity, and a desire to advance the organization's mission in a fast-paced environment are essential. The Director of Development will be a key player in the company's growth and will be expected to contribute to the organization's key policy initiatives.
