Automation Engineer
Boston, MA, United States
The Company: Tutor Intelligence deploys robotic systems, equipped with our own state-of-the-art physical AI, directly into factories across the United States. We spun out of MIT, are VC backed, and our mission is to radically scale automation in American factories by dramatically reducing the cost and complexity of these systems.
Here’s how it works:
We have a generalist software backend, allowing us to deploy new robots and applications without writing much custom code.
Our software to compensates for deficiencies in lower-cost robot arms, allowing us to cut out most of the hardware BOM cost.
But visually intelligent robot arms only go so far, we still need to build complete solutions for our customers. Here’s where you come in.
Job Summary: This role is a jack of all trades type role, spanning mechanical & electrical engineering. Your job will be to develop Tutor’s industrial applications at a hardware level, and coordinating with software teams to bring them to life.
On a given day, you may find yourself 3D printing a novel gripper, hacking together various automation equipment to make a demo, updating a PCB to manage various pneumatic components, or testing suction cups against a customer’s product. You may find yourself travelling to deployment sites at times, checking up on robots and figuring out what is working, what needs improvement.
You’ll find we value iteration, efficiency, and ownership.
