About the Hospital
New Berlin Animal Hospital has been serving the New Berlin, WI area since 1972, and has a long history and a deep commitment to the pets and their families in our community. In addition to wellness care, the hospital offers digital x-rays, dentistry, digital dental x-rays, in-house lab equipment, ultrasound, and EKG. This is a great place to hone your skills or for a new grad to gain a tremendous amount of mentorship from an established and collaborative team who has had AAHA accreditation since 1978. New Berlin is younger than many Milwaukee, Wisconsin, suburbs, but it has the tight-knit community feel of a place thats much older. Residents enjoy an atmosphere that is almost rural, yet is close to metropolitan conveniences. Different areas of the city provide unique living experiences for all who call New Berlin home. Responsibilities: Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
Treat and dress wounds
Perform surgery on animals
Test for and vaccinate against diseases
Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
Prescribe medication
Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
Strong fondness and understanding of animals
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of animal behavior
Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
