Position Summary
As our new Director of Engineering, you will be part of our central office working on a wide range of projects nationwide. We are seeking a Director of Engineering with 10+ years of experience in the engineering fields to help lead our Company growth and direction.
Typical Responsibilities
Manage consultant engineering design professionals and provide engineering oversight. Lead the preparation and review of engineering and construction documents.
Direct the preparation and review of calculations and designs for engineering systems and detailed drawings.
Analyze design requirements, specifications, and performance requirements.
Interface/coordinate with other professional disciplines.
Manage fees, scope and schedule requirements.
Responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.
Undertake constructability analyses and reviews.
Support sustainability objectives, methods and technologies.
Prepare material takeoffs and estimates for use in design processes.
Conduct due diligence on business initiatives.
Assist in contract negotiations.
Assist in governmental relations .
Requirements
BS degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Professional Engineering registration required.
10+ years of structural engineering design experience with supervisory experience in project management.
Experience in residential design and construction.
Proficiency with codes and standards relevant to engineering design and building construction as well as material specific design codes.
Sustainability methods and technologies experience.
High degree of competence and understanding of building materials, techniques and processes.
Previous quantity surveying and estimating experience preferred.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proactive in addressing problem issues, presenting and implementing solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of written and verbal communication skills.
