Documentation and Regulatory Specialist

We are currently accepting applications from interested applicants for our Documentation and Regulatory Specialist opportunity in our Research and Development department.
This opportunity will engage in several activities, including document management and nutritional labeling leadership within the R&D department. The individual works with the R&D Director and Food Safety & Quality to ensure that company and customer documents and portals contain accurate information such as product specifications, nutritional and food safety data, and certifications.
Responsibilities include:
•Understand FDA food labeling regulations and ensure that company labels and nutritional documents comply with regulations.
•Create, review and update Product Standards, Specifications, Component Scaling Sheets, Formula / WIP Sheets, Master Document List, Product Photos, Charts, etc.
•Inform Supply Chain Manager on BOM updates.
•Inform FSQA manager on new items and changes to Component Scaling Sheets for SafetyChain updates.
•Inform FSQA manager on new formulas for HACCP review.
•Participate in daily FSQA shelf-life and product quality cuttings
•Record and report changes to Product Standards and get approval from (Operations, R&D, Production, Procurement, FSQA)
•Upload, maintain documents link in Microsoft Dynamics (Just Foods).
•Use Genesis software, work with R&D Director to create, review and update Nutrition Information and Ingredient Declaration for Labels to meet regulatory compliance.
•Work with Sales and get approval for product labels prior to final print and release new labels for production use.
•Support documentation requirements for BRC (Ingredient List, Packaging List, Allergen list, etc)
•Manage Third-Party Customer Information Portals (1worldsync, TraceGains, Repositrak, etc)
•Complete customer forms as required.
•Submit new ingredients and finished goods and manage / update Kosher list and label / film binder.
•Assist Rabbi with Kosher onsite inspections.
•Assist with sales order entries.
•Assist with sample shipments, shipping labels.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
BS in Food Science or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of food industry experience.
Genesis software experience is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects and requests efficiently and simultaneously.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as on teams.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence others to achieve goals.
Proficient in MS Office and the ability to learn technical and computer skills.
Data and document management experience
Physical Requirements:
•Sitting for extended periods of time.
•Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes working near loud noise.
•Exposure to flour dust, fumes, smoke, bakery aromas and food allergens.
•Ability to taste and evaluate bakery foods that contain wheat (gluten), eggs, soy, and dairy (preferred, not required).
•Ability to type at 40 words per minute.
