Job Description Job Description SUMMARY
This position provides technology tools and support for the operations of Prairie Flower Casino. The IT Support Specialist will help with helpdesk and be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of desktop and laptop computers, servers, and virtualization systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the IT Manager with installing and upgrading computer components and software, managing virtual servers, and automating processes.
Troubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
Manages server backups and restores.
Takes part in helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
Researches and implements help desk and system admin best practices to be effective and efficient in conducting daily tasks.
Ensures proper software licensing to meet regulations and standards.
Creates and reviews department reports, addressing potential conflicts and/or misinformation.
Must be able to work the required work schedule and flexible to change shifts as needed to accommodate a 24/7 business. This may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to manage business and interact personally with team members, vendors, and guests. This may include working at times in an on-call capacity.
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field preferred.
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of system administration, help desk, or tech support experience required.
IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other IT related fields are a plus.
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of virtualization (VMWare), systems administration, networking software, hardware, networking protocols, scripting and automation tools.
Strong ability to manage priorities, workflow, and problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for positive interaction with staff, guests, and vendors.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex data, including reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate gaming license.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
