The Pricing and Competitive Intelligence (PCI) Analyst will support the Field Team through interaction with franchise car dealers. The Analyst applies an in-depth working knowledge of new vehicle marketing specifics such as Manufacturers, makes, models, trim levels, options, and incentives. The role provides exposure to a wide variety of challenges that prepare the candidate to fill-in for the Field representatives for many functions as needed. A successful Analyst guides dealer representative through the Costco Auto Program (CAP) vehicle pricing model in clear, precise words to maximize both the results the dealers receive and the value the members receive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review dealer-submitted vehicle pricing for consistency with both CAP pricing guidelines and the local Market
Comprehend the pricing guidelines to speak persuasively about them
Understand individual dealership and market factors that affect pricing
Speak with the dealership Authorized Pricing Contacts to validate the provided pricing using available resources
Continue the rapport created by the Field Team to increase the dealers’ appreciation of the Program
Evaluate and recommend resolutions to pricing inconsistencies
Provide ongoing support to the Field Team in assigned territories
Document all conversations with participating dealerships in database
Maintain open dialog with Supervisors within the department, as well as the Field Executives
Review Pricing Proposals for new Participating Dealers.
Review price exception requests.
Suggest improvements to the data gathering and implementation process.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Two-year College or university; and/or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience with a Franchise Dealership or Vendor with exposure to new car sales departments highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented; able to multi-task and organize
Excellent follow-up, relationship building and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, must complete work assignments with minimal supervision
Continually strives to improve skills and knowledge
Must be flexible and adaptable to change
Must be able to meet deadlines.
Must be a team player and w ork well with others.
Friendly demeanor & positive attitude
Intermediate PC user with knowledge of MS Office and the internet
