Construction Project Manager Full Time Professional San Antonio, TX, US

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Construction Project Manager supports day‑to‑day field operations for water and wastewater utility projects, working closely with subcontractors, inspectors, internal teams, and local municipalities. This role keeps projects moving, ensures work meets safety and quality standards, and maintains clear communication across field and office staff. The ideal candidate is organized, steady under pressure, and comfortable working with people at every level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Plan and sequence construction activities; coordinate phases to keep projects on schedule

Track daily field progress, budgets, and resource needs; provide timely updates

Direct subcontractors and third‑party inspectors; ensure work meets utility and safety standards

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection reports

Manage contracts, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and project documentation

Prepare progress reports, field notes, and QA/QC records

Implement QA/QC procedures and verify workmanship in the field

Coordinate permits, inspections, right‑of‑way access, and municipal approvals

Work with external utility providers on service connections and infrastructure tie‑ins

Enforce job‑site safety practices and address hazards promptly

Review and approve subcontractor labor POs and invoices; reconcile with project records

Maintain clean, organized job sites that meet BVRT construction standards

Manage multiple projects at once; adjust to changing priorities and field conditions

Use Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and other project tools for tracking and documentation

Communicate clearly with field crews, contractors, municipal officials, and internal teams

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

2–4 years of project management experience; water/wastewater utility experience preferred

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Solid interpersonal and supervisory abilities; comfortable working with field and office personnel

CAPM/PMP or higher certification desired

Working knowledge of construction compliance, safety regulations, and utility standards

Must pass background check and drug screen

LOCATION:

The on-site Construction Project Manager will be primarily in the Mustang Ridge/Kyle/Buda area, with occasional office time at the Corporate Office in San Antonio.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMAND:

Work is performed at various job locations and requires a high level of physical exertion. For example, loading and unloading objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
