Job Description Job Description Description: Summary/Objective:
The Parts Manager is responsible for controlling parts inventory levels, purchase orders, and maintaining the status of necessary items to complete upcoming jobs. This position requires open communication among the leadership and service teams to ensure min/max needs are met.
Essential Job Functions:
• Controlling parts inventory to correct level to ensure minimum out-of-stocks on key service replacement parts
• Maximize the number of total inventory turns (minimum of two turns per year with a goal of four per year)
• Coordinate all purchase order paperwork alongside Accounting team
• Verify receipt of all ordered through purchase orders and Accounting team
• Determine the most utilized and critical service and installation parts required, and reorder as needed to ensure adequate stock for service calls and jobs in progress.
• Supervise warehouse personnel and implement system to control inventory disbursement, loss of inventory of slow moving parts, and eliminate obsolete parts.
• Conduct quarterly physical inventory counts.
• Produce monthly usage reports
• Coordinate all product returns.
• Review equipment requirements and specifics for upcoming jobs to determine accuracy, advantageous buying opportunities, and initiate purchases through system to achieve just-in-time delivery
• Attend all internal pre-con meeting to discuss projects needs as they relate to parts, equipment, and materials requirement, as well as required delivery schedules.
• Collect necessary information to set up new job in files, AIA and job cost modules.
• Notify installation/service/electrical manager of proposed delivery dates and any specific handling requirements.
• Work with office manager to properly invoice customers for parts, equipment and installation projects.
• Invoice customers for parts orders during the same week as parts are received. Invoices for complete jobs (equipment orders) should be completed in the same week, as the equipment is received.
• Assist with customers and internal salesman as to parts and equipment applications and provide information resources.
Requirements: Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of previous experience in a warehouse parts setting required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Multitasking and task prioritization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a warehouse environment.
Physical Demands:
This role is half sedentary and half physical. Successful candidates should be able to lift 25 pounds, walk across the warehouse without stopping, and be able to stand for an extended period of time if needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
