The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a General Manager to lead it's Building Division.This position reports to the President/COO and is based out of Ruhlin's corporate office in Sharon Center, Ohio (20 minutes west of Akron, 35 minutes south of Cleveland).
**Position Summary**: Direct the day-to-day operations of the division to ensure divisional profitability goals and corporate operational objectives are met. Implement plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives.

**Position Responsibilities**:
* Establish and implement short-term and long-range goals within the framework of the overall corporate strategy.
* Create and monitor divisional budget, prepares reports for President/COO.
* Create and monitor margin analysis, prepare reports for President/COO.
* Plan, staff and supervise all assigned division activities through appropriate delegation to division personnel.
* Ensure Company policies and division procedures are understood and implemented consistently.
* Review cost analysis of each project monthly and determine and implement corrective action if necessary.
* Develop and continually improve the effectiveness of the division procedures.
* Identify and implement new methodologies and technologies to keep the Company competitive in the marketplace.
* Develop and maintain a strong industry network; actively participate in industry and civic organizations to promote corporate citizenship.
* Evaluate the performance of the division staff.
* Assist in development and securing of new business, partner with other divisions.
* Review major and complex projects to be bid or negotiated; work closely with estimating teams and the President/COO.
* Recommend purchases to the President/COO of all major system and/or equipment and capital expenditures, within the guidelines of the corporate capital plan.
* Build customer relationships and an industry network.
* Provide advice and direction to division personnel toward their professional development.
* Work with the Director of Human Resources on all personnel-related actions.
* Resolve operating problems and difficulties.
* Champion safety on all projects and ensure adherence to all Company safety policies.
* Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals to division staff.
* Support diversity by monitoring progress toward EEO goals.
* Perform additional assignment as directed by the President/COO.
**Essential Skills and Experience**:
* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
* Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in construction, including estimating, project management, scheduling, cost control and personnel administration.
* Advanced knowledge of the construction industry.
* Knowledge and experience with multiple project delivery types including GC, CM, DB, IPD, CMR.
* Detailed knowledge of construction process for all contract delivery systems.
* Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications, and legal documents.
* Excellent organizational, leadership, and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
* Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a three-to five-year period.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
* Problem analysis and problem resolution at a strategic level; sound judgment.
* Strong customer orientation.
* Good computer skills including the use of Vista by Viewpoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross section of individuals.
