Product Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position shall report directly to the drylin Linear Bearing Product Manager in Rhode Island and is responsible for pre- and post-sales support of the igus actuators/motors/drives "drylin E" product line in North America. The position will be working closely with customers, sales, engineering and other departments to ensure that customer needs are met quickly and accurately.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide deep technical support for igus linear actuators, motors and drives to customers and igus sales teams within North America. This includes on-site and remote visits.
Work with igus systems and online tools to identify suitable products to reduce the costs and / or improve the technology for customers.
Act as primary project manager on given projects - including direct contact with customers, sales, engineering, and suppliers.
Identify potential new products for the N. American market.
Design and construct test stands to conduct internal testing for both customer applications and igus standard tests.
Research and analyze the relevant product markets (drive controllers, motors, actuators), establish pricing with the Product Manager, and maintain project and competition lists.
This position will require an initial extended training in Cologne, Germany.
Keep material and product knowledge up to date.
Conduct trainings for Product Specialists and Sales Teams.
Perform marketing activities including videos, technical papers, catalogs in conjunction with the marketing department.
Work on special projects as assigned by the Product Manager.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong mechanical hands-on skills.
Knowledge of motors such as, stepper, servo, BLDC motors as well as experience with PLCs and driver/controllers.
Strong technical skills: able to present technical concepts; provide customers with hands-on technique using our products.
Willing to post on LinkedIn and other digital marketing platforms.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
National and international Travel on some occasions
Additional travel to Trade Shows, with Regional Sales Managers or to Sales Meetings will be required, as needed.
Self-starter; motivated, team focused and results driven with developed organizational, and time management skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office.
This position is initially 100% on-site with the possibility of limited work-from-home in the future.
