Summary Of Functions
Directs and coordinates activities of regional site civil, geotechnical, environmental and foundation projects and programs; maintains and enhances Forgen business relationships. This position includes business development, project oversight and management, execution responsibilities, and internally facing program development activities. This role provides the opportunity for leveraging leadership experience, subject matter expertise, and program development skills to expand relationships with new and existing clients. The VP of Gulf Coast Operations directs the development of proposals and the execution of projects while growing a sustainable and profitable regional service line of business. This role manages each project assigned according to Forgen’s corporate philosophy of safe, quality production while securing the most favorable economic outcome for Forgen.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead, Manage and be Accountable (LMA) for their direct reports.
Perform the roles and responsibilities for VP of Gulf Coast Operations as listed on the Accountability Chart.
Responsible for driving a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
Direct responsibility for the success of a portfolio of site civil, geotechnical, environmental and foundation projects and the performance of project directors, project managers, engineers, and other professionals under their supervision.
Develop, refine, and advance the overall business growth strategy for the regional service line by evaluating market opportunities, technologies, and internal capabilities to position the company for predictable and profitable growth.
Assist in maximizing the company’s overall operating performance and achievement of financial goals, including P&L, annual business plan development, forecasting, financial performance, and project performance.
Drive business development and project execution through collaborative engagement across all Forgen’s regions and lines of business.
Provide technical expertise, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required, including advisement on potential key investment or capital expenditures, new technologies or industry practices.
Perform additional assignments as directed.
Experience/Education
BS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent required.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on large-scale projects.
Experience in a construction environment which demands outstanding safety performance. Experience includes private sector, site development, foundations/pilings, and concrete.
Experience in a leadership role with P&L accountability ($25 mil + annual revenue).
Experience leading and developing a high-performing team of professionals.
Experienced in business development, leading capture teams and overseeing estimate and proposal development.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.
Company will provide additional training, as necessary.

Physical Demands

Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is important.
Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is also essential.
Sitting for extended period is common.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally may be required.
Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculator, copiers, and fax machines.
Good reasoning ability and decision-making is important.
Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
Primarily an office position. At time site visits and field project visits are required. Travel to offices and projects in various location around the country as needed. The following physical activities or abilities are commonly, but not always, associated with site visits.
Be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations.
When on project sites or if performing some types of work activity wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, earplugs, protective eyewear, gloves, hard hat, steel toed work boots, and high visibility safety apparel.
Work Environment
The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting and occasionally outdoors at construction sites.

Job Site environment, including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust and fumes.
Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
