**Job Description**
Expeditors' Customer Experience Portfolio is exclusively focused on delivering value to customers and creating the digital products, like EXP.O NOW, that uplift the technology leadership with our customers and industry.
EXP.O NOW is a visionary, industry-leading platform that is the place to go to do business with Expeditors. Our technology enables a seamless digital experience that connects our customers to their goods, providing a powerful tool to support strategic business decisions.
As the System Architect for the Visibility functional area of the EXP.O NOW product, you will support solution development by providing, communicating, and evolving the broader technology and architectural view of the solution. The Visibility functional area is responsible for delivering functionality in the reporting, tracking, and analytics space to our customers, and the System Architect plays a key leadership role in that delivery. Through the solution development process, you will create value for our customers and contribute to the success of the EXP.O NOW product.
The System Architect is responsible for driving architectural initiatives for the Visibility functional area within EXP.O NOW. They provide guidance and are responsible for aligning the technical work in their functional area with the strategies of EXP.O NOW, the Customer Experience Portfolio, and the enterprise. They determine the primary components and subsystems, identify the interfaces and interactions between them, defne Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs), communicate the Solution Context and Solution Intent to team members and stakeholders, and work with business stakeholders to help ensure fitness for purpose.
This position will report to the Senior Manager of EXP.O NOW and will work directly with development team members, program leadership, and product management, as well as stakeholders across the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with the EXP.O NOW, Portfolio, and Enterprise architects to contribute to, understand and support the strategic technical direction of the enterprise
* Define key technical initiatives that support Lean Budgets via Enabler Epics
* Support the Customer Experience Portfolio and EXP.O NOW strategies for building and maintaining the architectural runway
* Understand and communicate Strategic Themes and other key business drivers for architecture to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
* Coach developers and identify training opportunities, fostering common best practices
* Promote Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps capabilities
* Work with the teams to identify high priority technical work leading to improved productivity and team satisfaction
* Create and implement strategies for technology adoption within the Portfolio
* Ensure the availability, security and performance of Portfolio systems
* Support Systems Development Lifecycle and Software Acquisition Lifecycle processes
**Qualifications**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* 5-10 years of experience in a technical role
* Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factors
* Proven experience as a logistics and technology oriented leader
* Strong leadership, communication, and execution capabilities
* Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator and able to provide clarity around complex topics
* Experience with DevSecOps, Lean, Agile, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
* Assertive personality, interpersonal, action, and outcome driven leadership
* Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor, and motivate
* Ability to promote autonomy, mastery and purpose, through empowerment and creating leaders
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience working on reporting and business intelligence systems and knowledge of related industry best practices
* Global logistics/Supply chain business knowledge
* Experience in a technical role such as systems/data/business analysis, project management, or software development
