GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Associate Professor of Management is supervised by the Assistant Executive Director/Campus Dean of the San Antonio campus, to the Executive Director/Dean of the San Antonio campus. As a faculty member of WBU he/she will represent the University’s academic and spiritual emphases to the students, faculty, staff, and the community in a manner consistent with the University’s mission and purpose.
The individual teaches related classes and participates in university activities, cultivates productive relationships within the campus community, and promotes the mission of the university thorough the strengthening of relationships with appropriate community and corporate leaders. Participates in system initiatives to improve and maintain a scholarly Business program and c onducts appropriate research to determine the effectiveness of the existing program. Participates in developing and maintaining strategic direction and planning, and establishing standards. Acts as a role model in the Business profession and maintains a high standard of practice in educating and engaging the students to provide evidence-based practices. Provide excellence in teaching, student advising, research, scholarship and community service. Works with the Executive Director and other academic administrators in acquiring grants and contracts.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
Teach program related courses in areas of expertise.
Advise students majoring business programs.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of a successful related curriculum.
Participates in the evaluation of the Business curriculum.
Maintain Professional Development in areas of expertise.
Participates in and provides leadership when appropriate in Campus, University and Department Committees.
Participates and provides leadership when appropriate in Professional Organizations.
Fosters and maintains partnerships with related regional organizations and agencies, civic groups, and academic institutions across disciplines to promote the development of effective leaders, practitioners, and citizens and to advance the role of Business within our multicultural society.
Promotes positive relationships with alumni.
Complies with all applicable rules regulations, and policies pertaining to Business education programs.
Advises the campus Executive Director/Dean on program compliance, budget issues, and all other related program administration issues.
Serves on university and academic school committees.
Assists in developing and maintaining the Business and Management programs.
Assists in promoting the academic programs and involvement with community activities.
Attends scheduled faculty/staff meetings.
Is available to students as prescribed by University policies.
Assumes other professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director/Dean, Dean of the School Business or others as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education :
An earned doctorate in a business or management related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience and Knowledge:
Commitment to teaching excellence.
Understanding of and commitment to Christian higher education.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have a strong commitment to academic rigor and teaching.
The ability to communicate well with students and colleagues, and an appreciation for Christian higher education.
Must be proficient with computer software and classroom related technologies.
Ability and willingness to teach some courses on-line and at off-campus locations.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. Employee must be able to work as a team player, work indoors and in an environmentally controlled office area with florescent lighting, and on occasion work outdoors, be exact and accurate, pay very close attention to detail, and have transportation to and from work. The qualified applicant must be able to work flexible hours as needed. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish identity and employment eligibility as required by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Some travel required. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record. The candidate for employment will be subject to a background check and may be requested to take a drug test.
