We are partnered with a growing and exciting company in the construction industry seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant/Payroll Admin to join the team! This position plays a vital role in guaranteeing precise and prompt payroll processing, as well as overseeing employee benefits and ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
*This is a direct hire and onsite position in Woodland Hills, CA.
Core Duties:
Payroll Operations Management: Supervise the weekly or biweekly processing of payroll operations, including handling garnishments, benefits, and taxes in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Employee Benefits Oversight: Supervise employee benefits programs, analyze benefits requirements and trends, provide recommendations to management for program enhancements, and oversee the processing of benefit claims.
Legal Compliance Management: Stay abreast of HR federal and state regulations, implement necessary changes, maintain comprehensive records, and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
Employee Lifecycle Administration: Ensure precise processing of various employee lifecycle events, such as onboarding new hires, managing temporary staff, facilitating transfers, promotions, and handling terminations.
Payroll Auditing and Reporting: Compile and scrutinize payroll documentation, such as W-4 forms, payroll reconciliations, and year-to-date earnings. Performance Management and Employee Relations: Fulfill HR operational duties by overseeing employee relations, monitoring performance, and providing guidance on issue resolution.
HR Policy Development and Records Management: Develop, update, and propose HR policies and procedures. Design an efficient filing and retrieval system for HR records.
What we’re looking for:
Knowledge of federal and state labor regulations, payroll taxes, and benefits administration in addition to experience processing payrolls.
Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS.
Excellent analytical skills to manage reports, reconciliations, and payroll audits.
Accurate, meticulous, and has strong time management skills.
The ability to handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.
