About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Technical Operations to join their innovative team. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of managing the scale-up and tech transfer of the company's products to manufacturing partners, with a focus on process development, fermentation-based manufacturing, and process engineering. This pivotal role demands a leader who is a strong communicator, an effective problem solver, and capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The VP will work closely with R&D functions to develop product and process plans, ensure cost-effective scaling to commercial manufacturing, and provide the necessary techno-economic analysis to support business decisions. As a key partner to commercial and business development, the candidate will drive the manufacturing site selection process and be responsible for the establishment of facilities that comply with regulatory standards.Applicants for the VP of Technical Operations position at the company should hold an advanced degree or PhD in a relevant field and have a minimum of 15 years experience in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in senior management. Experience in both early and late-stage product development, as well as a background in a CMO environment for manufacturing bio-derived products, is essential. The role requires strong project management skills, experience in technology transfer, and the ability to interact with government regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technical groups, establishing and achieving business objectives, and be adept at building and developing strong scientific and technical teams.
