Position Overview:

As a Database Administrator at HBD Industries, Inc., you will play a crucial part in managing our database systems and leveraging data to support data analytics initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the performance and scalability of our data warehouse infrastructure, enabling seamless data analysis and visualization across the organization.

Our Technology:

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support business intelligence, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.

Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL data transformation processes to support various business needs.

Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ingest data from various sources into our databases.

Optimize database schemas, queries, and indexes for efficient data retrieval and analysis.

Optimize data warehouse performance and scalability through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques.

Monitor databases and data warehouse performance and capacity, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies to ensure optimal performance.

Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our data analytics capabilities and infrastructure.

Configure and maintain database replication, clustering, and backup solutions to ensure data availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity of operations.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role; focus on data analytics and business intelligence preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, with a strong understanding of database architecture, design principles, and optimization techniques.

Strong SQL and data modeling skills and solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.

Experience with structured cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)

Solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Hands-on experience with data analytics tools and languages such as Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization is desirable.

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
