Project Accounting Manager

Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Accounting Manger to join our team. This Project Accounting Manager will oversee all day-to-day financial aspects of the project life cycle from project set up through project close out process in collaboration with project managers, division leadership and project accounting staff.
Responsibilities:
Perform Revenue recognition for project portfolio.
Prepare month end/ad hoc reporting and analysis for project managers, division leadership, and accounting team.
Research and document project billing/revenue issues and assist project managers in resolution.
Proactively monitor timeliness of billing for assigned division(s), follow-up with project managers regarding collections routinely.
Assist with coordination and reporting for audits.
Verify the proposed setup of large or complex projects to ensure alignment with the contract/proposal.
Reviewing material or complex draft invoices for Project Managers
Manage assigned billing/project accounting staff members, including staff development, engagement, and annual goals are mutually agreed upon.
Provide training to billing/project accounting staff as well as project managers and administrative support staff throughout the company.
Perform other accounting tasks or special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Basic / Minimum Education requirement to perform the job: Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or Business.
Relevant Years of experience required to perform the role: 7-10+ years.
Percentage of completion (POC); Revenue recognition experience preferred.
AEC experience preferred.
Experience managing a team size of 5+ preferred.
Effective communication skills.
Experience with BST software a plus. Effective communication skills.
Experience with BST software a plus.
Experience in billing federal, state, and county projects a plus.
Mid-level to Advanced Excel skills
Ability to work overtime when required.
