The Mead & Hunt Transportation group’s Traffic Engineering and ITS business unit, who focuses on traffic engineering, transportation systems, and multimodal traffic operations, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer. Responsibilities include:
Plan and design Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Conduct traffic analysis and design including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, temporary traffic control, and lighting using MicroStation & Synchro
Oversee and/or manage projects from small traffic engineering task orders to large-scale multi-modal traffic/ITS projects
Serve as a client liaison for on-going projects
Identify potential new markets and service lines
Track upcoming pursuits and meet with clients to gather intelligence
Coordinate proposal efforts and assist in technical input to proposals
Participate in trade shows, conferences, and presentations
Attend client meetings
Prepare letters of interest and technical proposals
Attend technical interviews
Collaborate with other Mead & Hunt offices in the Southeast, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Mid-Atlantic regions
Travel and overnight stays will be required as needed
The successful candidate will have all of the following:
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
At least eight years of relevant work experience; and
PE license in Maryland or South Carolina
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
Thorough Knowledge of MDOT and SCDOT and local agency standards, guidelines, and practices
PTOE certification
Proven record of winning contracts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
