ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Process and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making
Continuously improve data processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support various business initiatives and projects
Document processes and methodologies to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into Salesforce
Conduct advanced statistical analyses and predictive modeling to identify trends and opportunities
Develop tools and frameworks to improve data accessibility and usability for stakeholders
Leverage API connections to integrate data from various external and internal sources, ensuring seamless data flow
Collaborate with engineering, finance, accounting, and land to understand data requirements and provide tailored data solutions
Ensure data quality by implementing data validation and cleansing procedures
Design and implement data models and queries to extract and aggregate data for reporting purposes
Configure and maintain Salesforce features such as workflows, process builder, and approval processes to automate business needs
Execute or assist with other special projects or duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with an overall high proficiency in computer systems
Programming experience in R and Python, with a strong understanding of their ecosystems, libraries, and best practices
Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from a relational database
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to visualize data using Excel or a Business Intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI
Proficiency in Alteryx, Tableau Prep, or related products with the ability to design and implement data workflows for data prep, blending, and analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle large volumes of data and find actionable trends – “see the forest and the trees”
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Four-year degree in a numbers or data-driven major (i.e. – Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computers, Science, or similar)
Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a data analyst or in a similar role
Experience working in the oil and gas industry is a plus
