The VP, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer will oversee system-wide strategic planning and development and manage the entire process, from plan creation to monitoring and reporting on performance. This position will collaborate with senior leadership to translate priorities to operational levels and ensure the strategic plan remains current. The VP, Chief Strategy, and Business Development Officer will identify and evaluate new business opportunities, placement of facilities and services, new products, and merger, acquisition, or affiliation opportunities consistent with the System's mission, vision, and strategic goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ FUNCTIONS FOR THE ROLE:

Leads the strategic planning process and support the senior leadership team in their participation and execution, including the following: Develop strategic plans.

Manage the overall strategic planning process.

Translate and integrate strategic priorities to operating units and service line levels.

Monitor and report performance.

Communicate strategic direction and consistent updates on plan performance.

Ensures appropriate use of market data for strategic planning.

Monitors and reports on the plan's progress and recommends actions to the senior leadership team to ensure the plan is achieved.

Promotes an understanding of the strategic plan as a living document from which business initiatives originate.

Directs the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities, products, and services in alignment with the strategic plan. Identifies and analyzes business opportunities, including physician partnerships and service line development across existing and new markets.

Directs and supports analysis, negotiations, recommendations, and implementation of plans for growing the base of business and overall market share.

Act as the strategy resource for negotiations and evaluations of all major transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures/transitions, joint ventures, and other new venture and partnership development opportunities.

Incorporates financial analysis into business plans and maintains quantitative discipline throughout the planning process. Collaborates with marketing, finance, and other internal customers to define data and information needed for market/product/service line development and evaluation.

Continually monitors the external environment and provides information that will impact the strategic plan and direction with timely reports, i.e., ongoing competitive assessments and System “report card.”

Oversees the development, analysis, reporting, and communication of system-wide business and operational information to support decision-making.

Ensures standardization of statistical and analytical tools for data management for strategic planning including collection, reporting, and analysis.
