HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate will provide structural and technical inspection services for renovations and construction in the areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and mechanical specializations for Georgia State University (GSU) buildings.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the preparation and submission of cost estimates and construction progress reports.

Attends and participates in pre- and post-construction meetings and schedules.

Provides field inspection services for renovations and construction.

Coordinates compliance with building and safety codes.

Serves as technical inspection liaison on renovation and construction work.

Assesses the safety and risk management of inspection and compliance services.

Provides other administrative and technical support for projects.

Performs other inspection-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local compliance codes.

Knowledge of construction cost estimation and inspection methods and practices.

Knowledge of interpreting and evaluating construction drawings and draughts.

Knowledge of computer software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Skilled in trade specializations, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and mechanical.

Effective time management, customer service, and organizational skills.

Effective oral and verbal communication with external and internal customers.

Ability to multi-task and perform life activities, such as climbing, walking, and entering non-confined areas.
