As an Automotive Dealership Trainer, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our dynamic workplace. This person will be responsible for new hire orientation and the continuous training and development of our employees in multiple dealerships within a defined geographic area. This position will organize and facilitate orientations and training programs, both in-person and virtually, focused on the company’s core values and culture, dealership knowledge, and core, technical, and soft skills training by role.

This person will report to the Learning & Development Director.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivering training programs to Sales, Service, F&I, Business Office employees, and dealership management to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to represent our companys core values and culture and the Norm Reeves Way, which produces consistent and exceptional service to our customers and employees.
Coordinate and facilitate highly engaging and interactive new hire orientation sessions, ensuring new employees receive adequate training and support, understand our culture and values, and have a great orientation experience.
Collaborate with department managers and GMs to identify training needs and create and facilitate prescriptive training programs to address those needs.
Assess training needs using various methods to identify gaps and root causes before implementing training.
Conduct non-disruptive training sessions in various formats, including in-person, virtual, and on-the-job training.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as needed.
Ensure training programs are relevant and effective, including proposing improvements based on relevant industry trends and development of best practices.
Based on employee training participation, monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed in partnership with managers.
Ensure fun and gamification are designed and interjected into learning experiences.
Manage logistics of training sessions, including scheduling, securing training rooms, and coordination with our vendors as needed.
Maintain detailed records of training activities, attendees, and outcomes and prepare regular reports and recaps for the leadership team.
Requirements:
3-5 years of automotive-related experience, preferably in automotive retail.
Strong understanding of standard dealership practices, processes, and procedures.
Knowledge of key personnel positions, functions, and practices.
Proficiency in adult learning theory and instructional design.
Strong ability to facilitate effectively to multi-generational audiences.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other training software.
Familiar with in-dealership software platforms like CRM, customer-facing communication platforms, etc.
