Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Senior Optimization Engineer will be responsible for enhancing the throughput and performance of our inspection systems. You will be responsible for selecting the computer and communication architecture and for profiling and tuning the existing software.
requirements
Be able to design and specify high performance distributed computer systems, including computers, CPUS, networking system.
Perform technical evaluations of new computer technologies, via reading, attending conferences, working with suppliers, and performing hands on evaluations.
Deep understanding of modern high-performance computing: CPU/GPU caching, multi-threading, GPU/CPU tradeoffs, streaming instructions such as SSE, AVX, CUDA, and networking.
Understanding of high performance networking, including InfiniBand and 100G Ethernet.
Experience in tuning code written in C#, C, C++, assembly, and CUDA inside a large codebase.
Proven track record of maintaining roadmaps for critical computer components, including CPUs, Memory, PCI, Storage, GPU, and networking standards.
In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should possess strong soft skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Participate in product requirements definition with peers, marketing, and management.
This person is encouraged to bring forward creative ideas, develop production code and support as needed. This candidate shall be able to work independently and provide recommendations to the hardware and software teams.
The candidate is encouraged to have excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Position may include limited travel.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or MS or Bachelor in EE, Computer Science, Applied Math or related field. Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 3 years related work experience;
Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years;
Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
