Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking one Senior and one Junior Construction Project Manager with a Civil Engineering degree for one of our Aviation Clients. The candidate is expected to come with specific industry experience within Airport/Airline Terminal Construction; these candidates must have industry experience working with Pavement & Asphalt Construction and/or Reconstruction.
This is a client facing position, we are looking for someone with strong written & verbal communication and this position will require candidate to conduct presentations for the project to clients/stakeholders. The responsibilities will mainly consist of management and coordination, and will interact daily with clients, stakeholders, and the project team. The candidates in this role will be responsible for managing the project team both on construction and design, architects, GCs, and schedule/cost management.
The project scope includes full reconstruction of Newark Liberty International Airport’s (EWR) Terminal C Apron concrete and asphalt located within the Airlines lease hold in Newark, NJ. All Terminal C Gates and Alleyways between Terminals C1, C2, and C3 are the areas in consideration. In 2023, the infrastructure was assessed within all major hubs in the network. For EWR/Newark, the focus of this assessment was the drainage and failed pavement throughout all of Terminal C. Terminal C’s current condition required Facilities to keep a repair and maintenance team on call. For the past years patching the problem has been the norm. Although patching is not a long-term solution for Terminal C, and we are looking to solve all pavement issue with this full pavement reconstruction. Along with the full reconstruction of pavement and asphalt, United is also exploring the regrading of new fall lines to improve drainage throughout the apron and repair of any underground utilities discovered during excavation. This could also include adding cathodic protection where necessary. As the phasing for the program moves from gate to gate, the planning team, has specified gates for “Clean Sheeting.” This will include, but is not limited to adding fuel pits, creating dual bridge gates, extending passenger boarding bridges, and interior hold room reconfiguration.
