IT AUDIT ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL AFFAIRS Internal Audit Office

The IT Audit Associate is a key member of the Internal Audit and Advisory Services (IA&AS) team at Boston University. This client-facing position reports to the Associate Director, IT Audit & Special Projects and performs testing and other auditing review procedures, prepares working papers that adequately document procedures performed and substantiated conclusion reached, and assists in the preparation of audit reports.
The ideal candidate has a detail-oriented, analytical mind that enjoys problem solving and creating efficiencies, while possessing strong communication skills. He/she/they should be an independent, proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic, a high degree of motivation, and the ability to contribute to a positive team attitude. This role will provide exposure to a variety of areas in a University setting, including administration, research, academics, operations, and IT.
Major duties of this position include:
Reviews and test the adequacy and effectiveness of established IT controls for varying functions and systems within the University to determine that they are in compliance with management instructions, applicable statements of policy and procedures.
Supports data driven audit processes and enhances audit processes through automation.
Conducts data extraction and analysis utilizing the department's ACL software and PowerBI.
Participates in special audit projects and investigations and contributes to reports of audit findings and in preparing recommendations for senior leadership.
Pay Range:
$65,000 75,000.
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
Required Skills
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
3-5 years of experience in in consulting, auditing, business process improvement, or similar role
Strong project management skills (creates project plans, timelines, and breakdown of tasks)
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and develop audit programs and procedures without established guidance
Ability to work optimally and collaboratively in a small, collegial, cross-functional team environment
Strong analytical/quantitative skills. -Advanced experience in analyzing data and project management across a broad range of topics and scope of responsibility
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ACL, PowerBI, SAP, and SQL and/or Python programming languages

* HS Diploma (Associates degree or certificate in applied science or science-related technology or other related field preferred).
