PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build, track, measure, and analyze a comprehensive purchase plan including associated strategies around the plan.

Implement and retain purchasing and recordkeeping systems including all documentation.

Simplify and improve ERP system processes and procedures.

Assist with cost roll and price point variance efforts.

Coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.

Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, including managing communication, creating and owning supplier contracts, reinforcing supplier accountability, and initiating cost improvements.

Successfully manage vendor performance (on time delivery, quality, cost, correct products, etc.)

Manage Market Rate of Demand and Kanban, including recommending and implementing changes and improvements for associated KPI's.

Manage purchasing for maintenance function.

Supply and coordinate down packing at vendor facilities.

Manage a team of buyers (2) to execute purchasing strategies.

Manage daily purchasing activities by supervising staff and allocating tasks.

Train new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.

Understand and utilize all ITW toolbox concepts.

Promote, support, and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

3-5 years of experience as a purchasing manager or related role.

Experience creating a successful purchasing plan to support a company’s goals and objectives.

3-5 years of people management experience.

Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.

Strong planning and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and strong collaboration skills.
