Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

Investment Solutions Technology (IST) is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We provide technology-based platforms that support products used by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Financial Advisors, Customer Service Associates, Operations Organization, External Money Managers, and External Clients. The core product platforms within IST are Advisory Products Technology, Investment Products Technology, Capital Markets Technology, and Field Management Technology. Investment Product Technology group is responsible for building trading platforms for investment products such as Mutual Funds, Retirements / College Planning, UITs, Alternative Investments, Insurance and Annuities.

Summary: The selected candidate will become a member of the Investment Products Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the applications that support the Investment Products business. You should be results oriented, comfortable working as part of an Agile team, and thrive on leading the development of systems that are of high quality. This individual will lead a team of developers and partner with stakeholders globally. They will be expected to collaborate with peers, business management, and technology management. Education: BS/BE degree in computer science, engineering, or related field

Responsibilities:

1. Team management including hiring, retention, and promotion of high potential team members.

2. Continually enhance the team's performance, ensuring adherence to best practices.

3. Provide leadership, direction, and strategy to build, manage, and scales a diverse software team.

4. Ensure ongoing alignment to Business Objectives, value drivers, and metrics across Squads.

5. Promote best practices for software development, Dev-Ops, Agile adoption and practice.

6. Collaborate within the organization on current and future state architecture.

7. Manage scope and requirements, building high-quality, scalable processes.

8. Leader of onshore/offshore development teams.

Skills Required:

1. 4+ years of financial industry experience.

2. 4+ years of software development / engineering experience related to AI, Data Science and Modeling, Data Structures, Large Language Models, Data Visualization.

3. Machine Learning and Java experience is a must

4. Prior experience must include building of Web Service and modern web development using tools such as Angular and Bootstrap.

5. Full understanding of relational databases, especially MS SQL Server.

6. Ability to work in a structured environment utilizing source control, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, DevOps, and site reliability with a high focus on quality.

7. Proven track record that demonstrates successful prior management of teams and large programs.

8. Significant experience leading multiple critical initiatives centered on enterprise applications through design, development, and delivery.

9. Successful track record of leading projects through the entire development lifecycle.

10. Very strong ability to perform analysis and design of technical solutions.

11. Experienced in Agile software development practices (Scrum) and tools (JIRA).

12. Ability to understand complex business processes and be able to interpret business requirements and produce functional/technical specifications.

13. Excellent relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and verbal communications.

14. Technical skills should include: Python, Java, Linux, Machine Learning tools, Angular, Kubernetes, Kafka, MS SQL Server, .Net, C#, and hands on experience developing RESTful Web Services (SOAP, REST, JSON).
