Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Medical Surgical Neuro-Trauma A5 North 48’s
Shift : Nights, 7p-7:30a, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will accept 36hrs, EOW
Length : 13 weeks
Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed

Unit Information: Neurosurgical/Neuroscience Med/Surgical/step down unit—40% of patients come from the Neuro Critical Care after an acute event and about 30% go to Rehab facilities upon discharge. Age ranges from 15-100+. Wide variety of Neuro trauma, MVA, stroke, seizure, brain and spinal cord injuries and insults along with Crani’s for tumors, laminectomies, shunts for hydrocephalus. Early mobility and rehab a significant focus–work daily with therapies.
– In and out caths/lines/g-tubes/occasional lumbar punctures/occasional trachs, PCA pumps, wound vacs,
– Nurses do primary care with excellent team support. Charge Nurse usually takes a reduced assignment to better support the team.
– 2-3 surgeries per day/Neuro Critical Care is our primary feeder unit. Most patients we treat have had an acute neuro-trauma type injury or insult to the brain or spinal cord.
