Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer will collaborate with the Project Team to manage the structural design process from project inception through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete structural analysis, prepare plans and specifications, and review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
Solve problems independently, make decisions, and implement standard engineering procedures to direct workflow. Oversee the production work of junior engineers and CAD technicians.
Coordinate structural engineering designs with clients, Project Architects, municipal agencies, and other design team members and consultants.
Design and analyze medium to large size projects using software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer, RAM Structural System, TEDDS, and Enercalc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Master’s in Science preferred.
8-10 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design of medium to large size projects, including office design, healthcare, schools, higher education, tenant renovations, and research facilities.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred; ability to obtain licensure required.
Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
Familiarity with standard construction practices and ability to work with Architects and Contractors to address design and construction issues.
Maintain clear records of all design decisions, calculations, and project-related documentation.
Proficiency in RAM, Enercalc, and Tekla Structural Designer.
Ability to work in Revit and AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and team skills.
Ability to understand and track financial information related to the project.
