We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Construction to lead our construction division across four business units. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities related to our renewable energy projects in California. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and excellence in sustainable energy construction while contributing to the company’s growth and success.

Company: Our client are a leading player in the renewable energy sector, based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute strategic plans for the construction division in alignment with company goals and objectives. Provide visionary leadership to ensure the successful execution of construction projects across multiple business units.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Implement best practices and efficient construction methodologies to optimize project outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, sales, and finance teams, to ensure alignment and support for construction initiatives. Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and challenges, proactively addressing issues to minimize disruptions and maximize project success. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, permits, and safety standards throughout the construction process.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of construction projects and teams. Analyze data and insights to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the construction division, seeking opportunities to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a focus on renewable energy projects.

Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale construction projects, preferably in California.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Deep understanding of construction methodologies, regulations, and best practices in the renewable energy industry.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans while managing day-to-day operations effectively.

PMP or LEED certification is a plus.
