Substitute Campus Supervisor

Job Summary
OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the school assistant principal, to perform a variety of duties associated with supervision of students on campus, and to do related work as directed or required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Supervise and patrol the student parking lot by controlling the speed of cars, loitering in cars, unauthorized cars on campus, and proper parking of cars;
•Patrol areas such as the auditorium, gym, locker room, and restrooms in an attempt to stop smoking, vandalism, bullying, and other at-risk behaviors in these areas;
•Assist in supervising student activity areas and library during lunch period;
•Assist in general supervision of campus as directed by the assistant principal;
•Assist in afternoon bus loading as needed;
•Report any inappropriate activities or unauthorized persons on or around campus to school administrators;
•Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
•Perform related duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
•Work directly with students to model and promote diversity awareness;
•Respond to teacher requests for assistance in the classroom;
•Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
•Methods and practices for maintaining safety and efficiency within school operations;
•Ability to operate a two-way radio and computer keyboard;
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students;
•Skill in motivating, encouraging, and assisting students;
•Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
