Position Summary
LSU Health New Orleans is seeking to fill several Client Support positions with eager, motivated individuals who have provided great IT service as a top priority. These positions will ultimately report to the IT Project Coordinator and be a part of the School of Medicine Client Support Team. This team provides software and hardware support for all Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences departments, Centers of Excellence, and Administrative Sections of LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine.
This technical position is a member of the School of Medicine's Information Technology staff who will provide end-user support for LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine Departments to include software installs and maintenance, workstation and laptop support / troubleshooting, local area network (LAN), wireless, and VoIP phone troubleshooting, AV, videoconferencing, support of research hardware/software to integrate with lab equipment, researching of specs and ordering of new computers, processing old equipment for surplus, printer/copier support, and other IT-related projects as assigned by the IT supervisor. The incumbent will work in coordination with the Department of Information Technology to adhere to IT policies, standards, and procedures. This position takes direction from a higher-level analyst or the School's IT Project Coordinator.
Additional Position Information
Primary responsibilities and duties of these IT Support Analyst positions include:
• Provide support for end users within LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine
• Consult with users to assess need and define the role that a system will play
• Workstation/Laptop support: Computer operating system and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, virus/malware removal, network connectivity (data cable patching and coordination of network drop activations), and printer configurations.
• Use Intune to add new systems to Microsoft Azure
• Install and verify computer encryption to protect data from unauthorized access Clear data from systems in preparation for surplus
• Software installation, configuration, connectivity, and/or troubleshooting for, but not limited to the following:
o Microsoft: Supported versions of Microsoft Windows, Office, Defender, Edge
o Third-party: Creative Cloud, Adobe Sign, Citrix client, DameWare, Intune, Azure, Team
Dynamix, Moodle
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Preferred Experience:
• Six or more months in desktop support, system admin, or related experience for entry level positions.
• Two or more years in desktop support, system admin, or related experience for higher level positions.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Previous experience supporting systems in Microsoft Active Directory
• Previous experience supporting systems in Microsoft Azure
• Previous experience supporting printers
• Previous experience with disk encryption implementation and support
