Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Compensation: 105000.-115000. / Annually Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of precision metal products, has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer , to join their winning team in Westlake.
Our candidate of choice’s mission is to be a deep domain expert in high power electronics, develop new products, improve existing products, and expand the technical expertise and knowledge base of the engineering department across all product lines
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engaging in all phases of electrical subsystem, power supply and lamp ballast, printed circuit boards and sensor product development
Own multiple engineering projects including new product developments, design improvements, and cost reductions
Design, build, and test prototypes to validate performance versus requirements
Plan and manage project requirements, technical risks, deliverables, and timelines
Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for safety, performance, reliability and manufacturability
Writing test instructions, test reports, and engineering change notices
Providing technical assistance to the purchasing, service, sales, marketing, and production departments
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics)
5+ years proven record in a product development and manufacturing environment for high voltage switch mode power supply design, analog and digital circuit design
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills
Designing circuit boards including schematics, bills of material, printed circuit board layout
Strong project management experience with proven time management skills; ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Designing electronics with high voltage MOSFET/IGBT
Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently with little supervision
Designing and developing proper heat management solutions for circuit designs
Ability to stay open-minded with the willingness to accept constructive criticism and feedback
Savvy communication and interpersonal skills required to lead projects to completion
Experience with lamp ballast design, development, and troubleshooting
Experience with UV fluorescent and xenon arc lamps
Expertise designing and specifying custom inductors and transformers
Troubleshooting voltage transient and susceptibility related problems
Working with 3 phase equipment up to 400V
