The Opportunity: Our company is seeking an experienced Director of Cloud Operations to manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security, governance, and management, along with a proven track record of scaling infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Cloud Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud environment as we continue to expand.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and practices to protect our systems and data.
Establish and enforce governance and compliance standards to ensure the secure and efficient use of cloud resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and scalability to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business.
Continuously monitor and analyze cloud usage, costs, and performance to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of our cloud environment.
Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, best practices, and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency.
Skillset: Strong knowledge of AWS services and architectures, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
Proven experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud architectures.
Familiarity with cloud security best practices and industry standards, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
Experience with cloud cost management and optimization techniques.
Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure automation, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Education and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience.
8+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure support and operations.
4+ years of experience in cloud operations.
At least 1 year in a leadership role.
