Overview
With over 30 years in practice, one of the country’s leading architectural & interior design firms specializing in life sciences, education, and workplace is actively seeking a Senior Lab Planner to join their Mountain View or Sacramento office. The studio specializes in the design of laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and high-performance workplace environments, for clients working in the life sciences, electronics, mission-critical, education, and medicine.
With 180+ staff, they provide programming, master planning, building, and interior design services, including laboratory, cGMP, and medical planning, to new and established companies, institutions, developers, and healthcare providers. Office locations include Mountain View, San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Diego
Role Requirements
An Architect or Designer with a minimum of ten years of technical expertise in the area of life science, biotech, or high-tech laboratory design. You will need experience in all phases of tenant improvement projects from Conceptual Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years professional experience required
Bachelors Degree in Architecture or equivalent
General knowledge of architectural history, design and technology
An understanding of basic building materials, details, and construction techniques
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work effectively on multiple projects, to set priorities and maintain schedules while working in a team environment
Consultant and contractor coordination
Design development experience, planning, coordinating and overseeing production of construction drawings
Construction administration skills
Must be proficient in Revit, Autodesk Building Design Suite along with Microsoft Office, SketchUp,and PhotoShop.
