Utilize the ERP system to review demand and issue purchase orders for required materials.
Drive cost savings through executing RFQs, identifying potential cost reduction areas, and staying informed about market trends.
Develop and nurture supplier relationships to ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of raw materials.
Collaborate with the New Product Development team to support sourcing needs.
Work closely with R&D to assess alternative/secondary suppliers for supply chain continuity.
Address any quality issues with materials by partnering with Quality and Vendor teams.
Maintain data accuracy in ERP by updating purchase orders, lead times, safety stocks, and vendor information.
Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and collaborate with Sales on discontinuations to avoid excess and obsolete inventory.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams on project statuses and deadlines.
Qualifications to be a Buyer:
Three plus years' experience in pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, or food-related industries with extensive knowledge of raw material sourcing and procurement.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop alternative solutions independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in organization and outside communication.
