Job Description

Horizon Project DeveloperLooking for someone who can handle deployments. Make recommendations on enhancements. Junior person that they can mold into something would be great. Also, a go getter that will come up with ideas.They need someone to work on the whole platform for the Horizon project. Horizon is the platform that is used in the plants for work completion- 6 teams doing work in there. Internal application that the team built for work execution. Different businesses that use it. Core team is responsible for all the releases.Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:This person will handle deployments and make recommendations on enhancements. Go getter and suggest ideas. They will be updating ECS firewall rules for the deployments. Everything will be AWS related. Join our world-class, innovative team today.What You Will Do:Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it and oversee CI/CD pipelines to maximize productivity.Experienced AWS DevOps responsible for making apps more scalable and reliable.Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.Design, implement, maintain, and support platform services associated with the CI/CD pipelinesConfigure monitoring and alerting systems for applications and platform services.Work with leadership and be accountable for aligning the team to architectural, technical, functional, and performance guidelines related to CI/CD pipelinesDefine service capacity planning strategies.Implement the application’s CI/CD pipeline using the Jenkins, GitHub Actions or AWS CI/CD stack.Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, CDK or similar.Experience with the core AWS services, plus the specifics mentioned in this job description.Good background in Linux/Unix administration.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Having used ECS or EKS.Proficiency in at least one language from our stack: C#. TypeScriptStrong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.Previous exposure to large-scale systems design.Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.Past experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus. For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).Exposure to Agile practices/Methodologies.
