**Responsibilities**

Our team is looking for a seasoned Front End Engineer who will help shape extensible UX platform to empower engineers across Microsoft by simplifying authoring capabilities and surfacing new AI powered experiences. The candidate will influence architectural and design decisions. They will be responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver modern, performant, scalable solutions that will go through the full engineering lifecycle, starting from initial research and prototyping to end-to-end delivery. Your contributions will span system design, quality, scalability & performance optimizations, and monitoring & telemetry, culminating in successful service rollout and ongoing live site support.

**Qualifications**

**Required/Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to JavaScript or TypeScript

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining complex web applications with a particular emphasis on User Experience.

+ 4+ years of experience in front-end web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Usability Testing) and modern front-end frameworks such as: React or Angular.

**Other Requirements:**

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Track record in developing frameworks, or services using C#, Java

+ Building modern, accessible and feature-rich web applications usingJavaScript,React, Angular or similar

+ Passion for creating user experiences.

+ Extensive design experience and fluency in design patterns, with attention to security, performance, reliability, scalability, accessibility and developer experience.

+ Experience building Microfrontends using WebPack Module Federation or similar frameworks

+ Experience building AI features using LLM frameworks (like Semantic Kernel, Langchain or similar frameworks)

+ Experience with one or more cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, etc.)

+ Experience in dealing with ambiguity and driving projects that span multiple engineering teams by bringing clarityand creating energy

+ Ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs and web services.

+ Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
