Vehicle Technician

Job Description

Vehicle TechnicianOur client, an AV manufacturing company, is looking for a Vehicle Technician for their Austin, TX location. Responsibilities include:Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.Sync with Shop Foreman to ensure all vehicles are in a "ready" state for demonstration and testing requirementsPerform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team if requiredCoordinate and drive the repair processCreate diagnostic test plans as the team sees fitMaintain service records and document quality field reportsMaintain shop facilities, ensure tools are in order, and workspace is in excellent working conditionAssist with parts inventory, location, and organizationBuild an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partnersRequirements include:Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehiclesMinimum of 2 - 4 years of technician experienceReliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethosAbility to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverablesTeam playerExcellent written and verbal skillsMust be honest, responsible and an outstanding communicatorAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods (8+ hours) depending on the equipment type.Forklift and/or gantry operation is required: Current and valid forklift operator certification compliant with Cal/OSHA standardsPreferred qualifications include:Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e. Dyno, Battery, etc.)Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams and soldering preferredExperience and ability to tow a car hauler and other large trailers to transport fleet vehiclesTechnical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repairWhy should you apply?Health benefitsReferral programExcellent growth and advancement opportunities
